It's a Subway hidden on the first floor of the Texas Association of counties building. just your standard subway fare, no filet mignon here. There are two seating areas one in the front and one in the back.
Unlike some Subways, this one does offer provolone and spinach.
It's one of the last places to get a sandwich, chips, and a drink for under $7. -

Wanted a sandwich...they are out of bread...you are a sandwich shop...you have one job...make sandwiches...on BREAD! Seriously disappointed /:

My sandwich was made exactly the way I wanted. Chris, the gentleman behind the counter, was nice and friendly. When I requested just a little oil and vinegar - that's what I got. It was pretty great. And I did find it fun that it is located in the Texas Association of Counties.

This Subway just landed on the do not visit list. I stopped in at 11 for lunch this morning to get a foot long Tuscan Chicken sub, seeing as it's the sub of the month. First issue -- no Italian herbs and cheese bread. No biggie, right? Then I have to wait for them to microwave the frozen chicken pieces. Then, no iced tea. "Just a minute," they promise. After a few minutes, they ask for my cup. They return my cup with barely colored water they claim is iced tea. Undrinkable. I then dump it out to fill it with Barq's root beer. Nope. No syrup in the fountain, producing some sort of barely tinged carbonated water. I finally settled on lemonade and settled on not returning. This location would really benefit from an on site manager who would remind the staff to take care of business rather than chatting and giggling amongst themselves.

The past two times I've been to this location, I've experienced unfriendly employees. Today was worse. The woman who made my sandwich told me they didn't have veggie patties without even checking to be sure -- I went there exactly a week ago much later than when I came in today and they had plenty. The veggie delight she made me was sloppy and under-filled. IT'S a VEGGIE sandwich, you shouldn't just put the normal toppings you would put on something with meat. And yes, I did ask for extra, but she did not oblige.
Anyways... if you're craving a quick sandwich in this part of town, take your money somewhere else such as Thundercloud Subs (at 16th and Lavaca) or The Jalopy (at 15th and San Antonio). At least then you know your money is going to a local business with employees who actually appreciate their jobs and want to keep their customers happy.
